My children do not wear jackets. They hate them. They would rather wear layers and layers of clothes and be cold than wear a jacket.
As a good mom, I insist that they have a jacket. So, they have a "token" jacket in their closet that hangs there, seldom worn, until they outgrow it, only to be replaced by another jacket that will hang there until it too is outgrown, and this goes on and on.
It is a futile effort on my part.
Paige is in a growing spree and everything is getting too small- again! It just seems like yesterday that I had to buy her all new jeans and uniforms because they were too small. So, needless to say, she has no jacket that fits, hanging in her closet.
Come to think about it, neither does Austin.
Fred's had their kids Columbia fleece on sale, so I asked if she would try one if I got her one. She said that she would try, so I jumped at the chance of getting her a jacket she would wear.
I brought it home, and my not-so-little girl, who was never really into fashion and really only cared if she liked her clothes and did not care if anyone else did, and I had the following conversation............
Me: Do you like your new fleece jacket?
Paige: Yes.
Me: Good.
Paige: But mom?
Me: Yes?
Paige: Do you think when I outgrow this one you can get me a North Face?
I didn't even know that she knew about North Face!
The kicker is that when her brother saw her fleece, he wanted one. So grammy took him to the store to pick one up for him too.
THEY ARE BOTH WEARING JACKETS TODAY!!!!
Thank the Lord for black Columbia fleece!!! :)

What is the plural of Fleece? I went to write Hooray for Fleeces, but I think it might be Fleeci, either way at least no one will catch their death of pneumonia.
all i know is that i may die of fleecimonia if no one posted on the brownrices blog before may 2007.
