Mom and dad are going to be home tomorrow! I for one cannot wait. The few times that they have left the kids, dog and I for any length of time has always ended with me feeling extremely blessed. I think they have only been gone for 2 weeks, but with my schedule it seems like eternity. Paige, Meg and I have survived.
I have survived mowing the grass, getting the trash and recycle/yard waste out on time, picking the remaining vegetables, putting away some stuff on the porch, keeping the laundry done (even ironing- mom would be proud), keeping the dog-hair-dust-bunnies at bay, and staying up with my academic work.
I have counted on the help mostly from the family of one of Paige's friends. (I am not sure if they want to be mentioned here, so I will just call Paige's friend "S") They have picked up Paige, fed Paige and generally taken care of her when I have been in class or taking care of patients. They are so super that they even fed me yesterday after I had a late evening after clinic. So nice.
My neighbor Sherry who is taking Paige to school and has offered to be there for anything. I know my house is safe with the V's keeping an eye on things from next door!
Lon who has helped with Paige and fed us a few nights. He has also helped with a REALLY BIG surprise for mom and dad from us kids and our significant others. But, more on that later as I cannot reveal the surprise. Actually, they will be driving in from the Ontario Oregon tomorrow and will not be looking here so I could actually say something. But, what if someone reads it here and calls them and tells them before they arrive- oh never mind, you all will have to wait. But here's a hint: they need a new one and it is bigger than a bread box. :)
I finished two of my finals today. (whew) and now I am focusing on comps. (ugh)
The end is in sight and that is good.
Now, if I could just work on that thing that Kat, Shelley, and my dad keep wishing/hoping/praying that I would finish already! ARGH!!!!!!
OK, off to bed to sleep before my 5:45am bus ride in the moring to SCCA.
