A Birthday Celebration.....brownrice style!

Paige began her
11th birthday celebration
on friday,
March 30th.

She had 6 of her friends over after school for birthday festivities which included many fish crafts (as "fish" was the theme), eating 2.5 extra large (little girls can slam down some food!) cheese pizzas (it was friday during lent, even though I was reminded that as 11 year olds, according to the church rules, they can eat meat, I still said no), drinking almost 2 gallons of koolaid, playing some version of tag in the dark, drizzly night with glow in the dark bracelets, eating bowlfuls of homemade buttered popcorn, eating frozen juice bars, watching a movie, and crashing anywhere they could get comfy (after SEVERAL reminders to settle down) in the living room.

We woke way too early on saturday to the sound of another movie in the DVD player, so I jumped up (as fast as I possibly could with a few hours of sleep and since I gave up coffee for lent!) and we whipped up some bacon and pancakes.

Did I mention how much little girls can eat?

Hey,
I
think
someone
was
in
the
icing
again!

Paige received a big box of flowers from poppop and a phone call with birthday wishes and a song to go with.

She had g-ma's birthday box to open, which is always exciting.

Yesterday, she had birthday gifts from our neighbors, the Varkonyi's and of course Shelley and Viper.

We baked and decorated fish shaped cookies for her to take to school today.

Today, April 4, was the BIG DAY.
She was awakened by her brother singing Happy Birthday to her, g-ma was next on the phone singing, a few other phone calls and even a text via my phone.

She had a special dinner, her choice- steak, crab (one of her favs and a surprise for her) and asparagus ( I thought she liked it, but she didn't, so the rest of us ate the delicious green yummies- broiled with olive oil, salt and garlic- receipe from Lon's fam).

She opened her gifts from the fam here at the house, and we had another cake (this one decorated by none other than Austin and his friend Theryn with help, of course, from mom) and ice cream.

Somebody
give
this
girl
a
hat!

Whew!
MUCH
better!

(I think she takes after my dad...... )

All in all, I think she had a great celebration.

She is growing by leaps and bounds and is turning into quite the preteen.

I will definately miss my little paiger.
